The Delta State UNIDO Center/ Export Initiatives is mandated to encourage the export of non-oil products from Delta State to the rest of the world.
Through oversight functions and support mechanisms, we ensure that good quality export products and services are made available.
Our Short Term plans include:

1. Begin Leatherworks and Akwa-ocha for Export. (b) Begin Arts and Crafts export. (c) Begin Dry fish and Crayfish processing for export.
2. Consolidating on the Garri export. (e) Palm oil processing for export.

Leather And Footwear Training
Activities have since commenced at the Delta State Footwear and Leather Facility Centre/Shoes Factory, Issele-Uku, where youths are trained to produce quality shoes, bags and other leather products.

Akwa-Ocha/Akwa-Oma Production
With the intervention of Governor Okowa, the centre introduced new and improved weaving equipment capable of producing one complete set of wrappers both white and coloured within three days. This project has now been spread to the 25 LGAs of the State for promotion, production and empowerment.
