Delta State Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency, (DEMSMA) was established on 20th October 2014. The Agency coordinates the development of MSMEs and also provides business support and advisory services for MSMEs in Delta State. The Agency’s mandate includes; Strategic Agro Production, Agribusiness, Value Chain and Cluster Development, promoting linkages between MSMEs and development partners/Donor Agencies, both local and international.

Encourage partnership with large cooperations to provide capacity development and financial support services to MSMEs without prejudice as well as Leverage digital technology for product development and services in order to provide opportunities in our evolving economy. The Agency also serves as a vanguard for rural economic development, poverty alleviation, technological acquisition, job creation and sustainable livelihood for Economic growth.

From May 29, 2015 to date, the Governor Okowa led Administration, has through the Agency trained and empowered 31,692 MSMEs in different categories such as leather works, Farmers, Motorcyclists, Tricyclists, Butchers, Petty traders, Artisans (Welders and Fashion Designers), Akwaocha and Akwaoma men and women More mind-blowing, is the Delta CARES program ready for flag-off and disbursement of empowerment grants to the first 1,619 beneficiaries across the State. As well as the launch of the Delta state Enterprise Empowerment Program (DSEEP) for the Empowerment of 150 women in the three Senatorial Districts across the State.
